Monthly Money Horoscopes - August 2017
What is happening this month is akin to a boat or a plane journey, where it has left the starting point but hasn't reached the destination, so the journey is in progress. It was early last month that Venus not only wrapped up her own month long visit to your income sector, but five months of planetary activity. Until new developments on the financial front in early October there is no planetary activity in any of your money houses, so you are in transit from one phase of your financial year to the next. Yet it is while you are in this phase that you are moving towards major new developments on the financial front, this is a destination you won't reach until lucky Jupiter returns to your financial sector on the 11th October. So while this is something you are moving and even looking towards, you're not there yet. What this does do is make the Moon's monthly visits a lot more important, each visit taking you four weeks closer. It is important then that you start the month with the Moon in your financial sector, from the 30th July to the 2nd August. This will ensure your financial instincts are sharp from the get go. By the time the Moon returns from the 26th August to the 29th August, you will be four weeks closer. Yet at the same time this is a month where there is a push to exploit as much income potential as possible before then. Mercury will spend the whole month in your work sector and the Sun will return on the 23rd August, all accessing that untapped income potential. What makes the Moon's visit to your income sector from the 13th August to the 16th August auspicious, is that this will ensure your nose for money is sharp as the doors open to the past, second chances and untapped job potential.
Even though Venus will leave your income sector in the early hours of the month, she will not only make an imprint on income matters this month, but on financial matters as well. Venus' departure on the 1st August brings a period of continuous planetary activity that began in April to a close, an unbroken chain that exploited different income aspects and possibilities. That it was Venus, planet of money that was the last to leave is significant. For if anyone knows where the money is Venus will. Venus will leave you with a lucrative sense of direction that will serve you well throughout the coming year and especially during Jupiter's final months in your career sector. A lunar eclipse in your career sector will fall just a week after Venus left your income sector and whatever this triggers professionally, you can be sure there will be lucrative implications. It is the Moon's monthly visits that will bring a chance to sharpen your nose for money and tap back into that lucrative sense of direction, something that will happen every four weeks. The first visit after Venus' departure will run from the 16th August to the 18th August. As mentioned at the start, this will have financial implications as well. For Venus was the last planet to move into opposition with Saturn in your financial sector. Not for this year, but for the last time while in your financial sector for another 28 years. With Saturn turning direct on the 26th August and then leaving in December, Venus was again the perfect planet to bring the financial wakeup calls you needed.
By this time last year all the planetary activity in your income sector had run its course for the year and by default the focus had shifted back onto money matters. This is the default because you have Pluto in your financial sector from 2008 to 2024, so when there is no planetary activity on the income front, this is where it shifts. This year that won't be the case until late September, with income forces getting an exceptionally long run. You can thank two planets for that, cosmic sisters and the two goddesses of the solar system. I'm talking Venus and Ceres, one the planet of money and the other the queen of nurturing. When Mars left your income sector on the 21st August and the Sun two days later, this should have brought all planetary activity for the year to a close and last year that was the case. This year Ceres is making her first visit in four years and because of a retrograde phase earlier in the year, Venus is running late. Fate puts them together at the start of the month, not only extending out your income opportunities and potential, but ushering in the most potentially lucrative weeks of 2017. Venus returns on the 1st August to find the majority of the hard work already done and to find that Ceres is already on the job of getting to the heart of what you really value. This allows Venus to focus on what she is here to do, which is to fuel a sense of entitlement and trigger the laws of attraction. The Moon will move through from the 18th August to the 20th August, giving you a nose for money and a lucrative sense of direction during Venus' final days and as Ceres prepares to move into her final month.
That the Sun will always spend the first three weeks of August in your income sector is about the only thing that can be considered the norm on the income front this month. The fact that you have a lunar eclipse in your financial sector on the 8th August and a total solar eclipse in your income sector on the 22nd August, is evidence that fate is at play behind the scenes. This might sound like hyperbole, but with the lunar nodes in your two money houses since May, this is the reality. The difference this month is that when the Sun, Mercury and Mars returned to your income sector last month, they were the first planets to find the North Node here in 17 years. Or at least that was the case for the Sun and Mercury. For Mars, when he returned on the 21st August to declare war on glass ceilings, it was his first encounter with the North Node here in 36 years. Why that is important is that the North Node brings the element of fate but also destiny in play. Since the 10th May the North Node has been creating a lucrative sense of direction and a lot of potential. But it takes planets to trigger that potential. To have the Sun, Mars and the North Node in your income sector at the same time is rare. The Sun turns the spotlight on what is developing, Mars provides the motivation to fight for what you deserve and the North Node sets the scene for what's possible. The last time all three met up here was in 1925, 92 years ago. Yet with Mars here all month, continuous planetary activity until September 2018 and the North Node here until November 2018, this is a journey.
Compared to other, more active areas of your chart, what is developing on the income front this month is a slow burn. However, any kind of a burn is significant, especially in the early part of the month and in this case, a slow burn couldn't be more advantageous. By a slow burn what I am talking about is Mercury. Often the first planetary activity on the income front doesn't begin until the Sun returns on the 23rd August. This is the point in any year when the solar spotlight will shift onto your income situation, matters and options. Mercury will move through at around the same time, racing through in 15 days, half the time it takes the Sun to move through, he is a fast burn. You have 15 days to work with his smart head for money and to get your head in the game. So to not have a fast burn is an advantage, but not just because of the extra time. Mercury returned on the 26th July and therefore should be gone just 10 days into the month. Had that happened Mercury would move into opposition with both Neptune and Chiron in your financial sector. However, he will turn retrograde on the 13th August, before that can happen. So as well as buying you extra time to work with Mercury's smart head for money, it puts off any financial tension or clash between income and money matters until later next month. Until then a retrograde turn opens the doors to the past, second chances and untapped income potential.
While you have reached a good and important month for both income and money matters, the experience is so different that you almost have two separate financial months. The best part is, that while income and money matters are on two very different paths this month, those paths won't cross so we're not going to get the financial tension we had earlier in the year, when they clashed. With income and money matters in their own lane, this allows you to play two separate but interdependent games. For if there is anything you learned from the first half of the year, it is the importance of a balance between money coming in and money going out. What you don't have is the money gods policing this, this month. On the income front you have lucky Jupiter coming into his own. Due to leave on the 11th October, Jupiter is now in his final two months and with the Sun returning next month, is in his last full month on his own. After spending the majority of July with support of Venus in your career sector and with the help of a lunar eclipse in your work sector on the 8th August, you should be seeing signs of movement on the income front. If you don't see the money itself don't worry, for you have until December to fully exploit this. On the financial front the conditions couldn't be more extreme. After Eris' retrograde turn in your financial sector last month Uranus will also turn retrograde here on the 3rd August. When it comes to money matters as a whole, this is the start of a review phase, with a chance to retrace your steps.
For the first time since January, you have a month with no planetary activity in either of your two money houses. It was Venus' departure from your financial sector in early July that not only brought her own month long visit to a close, but five months of planetary activity. This brings you to a transition period, where the money gods themselves are taking a break and letting things play out on the financial front. It is while the money gods take a break that the professional gods will take the field, though with an undercover money god in their ranks. For when things start up again in early October it will be with lucky Jupiter's return to your income sector, kicking off your luckiest and most potentially lucrative income year in over a decade. So while money matters are left to run their course, the money gods themselves are preparing for massive new income opportunities and growth ahead. That is why they are so interested in what is happening on both the job and career fronts this month. Knowing the importance of having the right professional momentum, it is understandable that the money gods will want to watch from the bleachers. However, they do have one undercover money god on the field or will do from the 1st August to the 26th August. This is when Venus, planet of money will make a late return to your career sector. Venus will also work to steer your professional game in a lucrative direction when she moves through, but she doesn't usually have such a large target to aim for. Fortunately, with the Moon in your income sector from the 30th July to the 2nd August, your nose for money will be sharp as Venus returns.
After months of not just juggling income and money matters, but the tension between the two, the power all shifts back to income matters this month, where it will stay for the rest of the year. However, the last planet to move through your financial sector this year did not go down without a fight. Not leaving until the very early hours of the month, Venus was the last of a parade of planets that began moving through in April. Venus was also the last planet to move into opposition with Saturn in your income sector, not just this year but for another 28 years. While Venus was defending money matters as a whole and was fighting for a balance between money coming in and money going out, she was able to look at both sides of the fence. Venus is the planet of money, but her natural focus is on earned income. So pressure on Saturn in the later days of July would be more akin to Venus shaking him on the shoulders saying 'wake up, wake up'. Why that is important is that Saturn is now in his final weeks in retrograde motion and once he turns direct on the 26th August, his third retrograde phase in as many years and last for another 28 years will end. Saturn won't leave until December and will enjoy unprecedented support from the professional gods between now and then. However, it is only until the 26th August that the doors will be open to the past, second chances and untapped income potential.
This is the month that your financial year should have shifted back to its natural default, which means shifting back to just being about income matters. This is the natural default of any financial year and has been for nine years now, due to the fact that you have Pluto in your income sector from 2008 to 2024. When there is no planetary activity on the financial front, this is where all the money gods shift their focus. This keeps the money gods employed 365 days out of every year. However, when there is planetary activity on the financial front the money gods have to divide and conquer. Stalwart money gods will stay on remain focused on money gods, while the other half will be dispatched to take care of money matters, which are only active for a few months each year. When Mars left your financial sector on the 21st July and the Sun on the 23rd July, this should have brought all the focus on your financial situation and money matters to a close for the year. Last year that was the case, but not this year and you can thank Venus and Ceres for that. Ceres because she is making her first visit to your financial sector in four years and Venus because held back by a retrograde phase earlier in the year she doesn't return until the 1st August. Income forces won't be happy about that, until they realise it is Venus. For while Venus is the planet of money her DNA is linked to income. So advocating for money matters, she will use the competition between income and money matters to squeeze out as much untapped income potential as possible. At the same time Venus and Ceres create some positive and undemanding focus on money matters.
To have a lunar eclipse in your income sector and a total solar eclipse in your financial sector this month means this was never going to be an ordinary month on either front. Also that there was something powerful in play behind the scenes. For while eclipses might appear to be random events they are anything but. These two eclipses became inevitable when the lunar nodes returned to your two money houses in May and are a direct result of that. Where the lunar nodes are is where we have eclipses. Since the career sector May the South Node has been exploring untapped income potential, while the North Node has been exploring the potential for new financial growth. The South Node will always be focused on the past and the North Node always on the future. That is why the lunar eclipse in your income sector on the 8th August could be a fateful trigger for untapped income potential. With lucky Jupiter about to move into his final two months in your career sector by then, you will definitely have the professional clout. This is also the reason why the total solar eclipse in your financial sector on the 22nd August has the potential for major new financial beginnings and developments. However, before you go out and waste your money on lotto tickets, this isn't the kind of new beginnings I am talking about. There will be no truck backing up the driveway, ready to dump cash on your doorstep. With Mars in your financial sector all month and the Sun until the 23rd August, this is opening the door to new financial growth, a journey that will take until November 2018.
That the focus is on your financial situation and money matters in August is not a surprise. However, this year it has begun before the Sun returns to your financial sector on the 23rd August and is not the threat to income matters that it has been in the past. The last two years has had a lot of planetary focus on money matters, including the 13 months that Jupiter spent in your financial sector from August 2015 to September 2016. When there is no planetary activity in your financial sector the natural default is income matters. That is because unlike money matters, which are only normally active for a few months each year, you have had continuous planetary activity in your income sector since 2003 and will do until Neptune leaves in 2026. You would think that if income matters had the support of the money gods all year, every year they wouldn't begrudge money matters having their turn. However, as your two money houses are located on opposite sides of the sky, this creates the potential for oppositions and financial tension. To have Mercury return for what should have been a 15 day visit to your financial sector on the 26th July, would have had income forces bracing for impact. However, it hasn't taken long to realise that's not going to happen. That is because Mercury will turn retrograde on the 13th August, before he can move into opposition with Neptune in your income sector. This has Mercury waving the white flag, allowing income matters to stay on their side of the fence. Both planets in your income sector are in retrograde motion and when Mercury turns retrograde on the 13th August, the doors will be open to the past, second chances, untapped income and financial potential at the same time.
The first half of the year was dominated by conflict between income and financial forces. This was a result of having Jupiter in your financial sector for the first time in 12 years and an usual amount of planetary activity moving through your income sector. Every planet that moved through your income sector moved into opposition with Jupiter and when Jupiter turned retrograde, they did it all over again. This is the reason why the first half of the year was fraught with the potential for financial tension. Those times have definitely changed and both sides have emerged stronger because of it. This month income and money matters take two very different paths, creating a situation where you have two completely different financial months. Fortunately those paths don't cross, allowing income and money matters to stay in their own lanes and in a trouble free and most importantly, financial tension free way. It is as though the money gods decided on a diplomatic solution, with money matters as a whole taking the road ahead and income matters the road behind. For with Jupiter leaving your financial sector in early October, financial growth is now expanding outwards, with nothing but opportunity and free paths out in front of you. There will be some pressure from Pluto, but this will simply keep you on your toes. In the meantime, with Eris in her first full month in retrograde motion in your income sector and Uranus turning retrograde here on the 3rd August, income matters are more focused on the road behind, the past, second chances and untapped income potential.
